FAQ's
Q: What is Lokey Charities?
A: Lokey Charities, Inc., a 501(C)3 non-profit organization, was founded in 2010 as the giving arm of the Lokey Automotive Group in the Greater Tampa Bay area, Florida.
The 3rd Annual Lokey Charities Golf Classic was played at the Belleair Country Club in Belleair, Florida on May 11, 2012. 100% of the proceeds from this event are matched by Lokey to benefit Community Partners and special projects supported by Lokey Charities, Inc. Our Home Page shows some photos from that day. Before the tee off, Paul Lokey presented a check to Barbara Inman, CEO of Habitat for Humanity Pinellas (also pictured, Steve Lightburn, VP Development), monies raised from an April fundraiser. Paul Lokey's Opening Remarks are in our Photo/Video Gallery.
Plans are underway for the 4th Annual Golf Classic on May 3rd, 2013 at the Belleair Country Club. Check back for details.
Q: What criteria does Lokey Charities use to judge a potential Community Partner?
A: Our potential partners must be not-for-profit 501(C)3 organizations (we cannot give to an individual directly), have a good rating on the vetting website Charity Navigator or come highly recommended by a reliable local source. We ask, “Does this organization align with our mission statement?”
Q: What is Lokey Charities’ mission?
A: Lokey Charities’ mission is to help children and youth reach their full potential by providing for basic needs such as food, shelter, access to medical care and positive mentoring. This starts in our surrounding community and continues to areas all over the world.
Q: What’s the difference between a Community Partner and an Extra Mile Award Winner?
A: We are in long-term relationship with Community Partners and make substantial contributions to those organizations. The Extra Mile Award recognizes local organizations which are making a positive difference in the community; the award is $500 and free publicity on Bright House Network in the Tampa Bay Area.
Q: How can I get involved with the current project in which Lokey Charities is involved?
A: Send your contact information and we’ll let you know what’s happening and if the event is open for public participation. OR, you can friend us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter!
